The washroom on third floor of the Architecture Building was originally a men’s washroom, which meant that there were 3 men’s washrooms and only 1 women’s washroom in the building. With an increasing amount of female students entering the UIUC School of Architecture each year, more women felt it necessary to even things out. In 1973, female students (including Martha Spatz pictured, right) took over the 3rd floor washroom, making it a women’s washroom.
