Chicago Firms Tour Update
On Friday March 7 we are planning to leave around 6:45am for the WIA Chicago Firms Tour, and plan to be back in Champaign around 10pm that night. We have gotten confirmation from Ross Barney, Studio Gang, Urban Works, 4240 Architecture, and Studio Gang.

Students who are interested will be paired up with practicing female architects, most likely U of I alumni. They can answer any questions students may have and give much needed advice.

General Meeting and Women's History Month
Welcome back WIA members! Our first meeting of the semester will be on Wednesday January 30th at 7:00 pm in the TBH atrium. We will have an update on the progress of this semester's events including:
- Firms confirmed for the Chicago architecture firm tour
- "Women on Campus" UIUC architecture history tour, a new event on mom's weekend with SAH
- Faculty and/or professionals to attend the mom's day luncheon
- Spring semester field trip to a historic or important building
Following this update, we need your help working on a new project sponsored by WIA. Since March is Women's History Month, we will be making posters to place around the architecture buildings to educate students about important female architects and to create awareness about the problems faced by female architects. So come help pick out your favorite architects, facts, and figures, and help us sketch out poster designs.
There will be snacks and refreshments at the meeting, we hope to see you there!
Our Bake Sale and Portfolio Workshop will be on Wednesday, December 5, 2007. If you would like to help us bake, please contact Catherine at cchau@uiuc.edu.

General Meeting and Pizza Night
This combined meeting and social event will be held on Tuesday, November 13, at 6:00p in the TBH Atrium. The meeting will last for about 30 minutes to update what we have done so far for the past events and discuss the upcoming WIA events for the spring semester (Chicago film tour and faculty luncheon). We will also discuss having a bake sale for fundraising and we need help form our members.
WIA Football Tailgating Fundraising and Social Event (update)
The next homecoming football games are on Oct 20th vs Michigan and on Oct 27th vs Ball Street.
It will be a lot of fun getting free football beads for ourselves (for those who will help) and selling them for fundraising.
We want to have a head count of people who will be interested in selling football beads for WIA fundraising on either date or both.

- Membership Fees were due Friday, September 14, 2007. If you would still like to join WIA, the fee is still $15 and can be paid with cash or check (made out to Women in Architecture). It can be given to Shannon Bridges (WIA Treasurer) or delivered to our mailbox in 104 TBH.
