Officer Responsibilities
(Reference for Officer Applications at the end of the year)
President: This person is in charge of organizing all events and officers and overseeing that this group runs professionally and according to its purpose. This position includes a lot of communication, both with WIA members and with the University staff and faculty. Must express ability to manage and organize and willingness to better the organization.
Vice President: This person is in charge of helping organize all events and officers and overseeing that this group runs professionally and according to its purpose. This position includes a lot of communication, both with WIA members and with the University staff and faculty. Must express ability to manage and organize and willingness to better the organization.
Secretary: This position is responsible for taking meeting minutes and maintaining WIA paperwork and records. Must be organized and able to attend most meetings
Treasurer: Position is in charge of managing the funds of the organization. All refunds to members and funds raised in our activities will be handled by the treasurer. Applicants must be very responsible and willing to coordinate refunds with the school accountant in a timely manner. A short, one time course is required by the RSO regulations.
Publicity Chair: This person must have the creative eye to make our signs/posters stand out and be noticeable amongst all of those posted. They must be able to create professional, legible, and eye-catching designs while staying on top of our events and making sure that these signs get posted in advance of each event.
Fundraising Chair: This person is in charge of proposing and organizing all fund raising efforts. She must be creative, organized, and motivated.
Web-Designer: This person must have the knowledge to edit and maintain our fabulous website. This position requires updating the website on a very regular basis.
Workshop Committee: This position is responsible for creating and organizing themed meetings and workshops that are held by WIA. Must be creative, professional and responsible.
