Due to unexpected events, our Champaign firms tour was cancelled. We apologize to those who'd signed up.

On the other hand, we're working hard in organizing our first-time ever annual female faculty luncheon!! We're inviting female faculty from Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Planning to an elegant luncheon on April 17th, from 12pm to 3pm, at Rm. 370, Wohlers Hall. All majors are welcomed to join us!! Please email Dani to make your reservation by 5pm Wed., Apr. 14th so we know how much food (Italian, last I heard) to make! And feel free to bring your moms with you since it's Mom's Weekend. Make sure you mention that in your reservation, though. Have I mentioned there'll be gifts?

On the third hand (yeah), updates on the web:
  1. Put back up our About page. I had no idea that it wasn't there!! For TWO WHOLE MONTHS! I apologize for this careless error.
  2. Pictures from the Chicago tour are up! Literally, only pictures. Text will be up soon. Visit the Events page!
  3. and lastly, more pin-ups!!
Wow, longest update ever.

Our president's latest email: "This semester we are proud to be planning a firms tour in Champaign, and one in Chicago (co-sponsored with NOMAS). On these trips we will visit several firms and get the opportunity to learn about firm structure and careers in architecture. These tours provide a great opportunity to make connections for future internships or networking. In addition to these tours we are also planning a luncheon with the faculy in our department. This will be a fantastic event where we can get to know our female faculty on a more personal basis and learn more about their career experiences. These major events are just a start to what WIA can do for you. We will also be having workshop based and informative meetings as well as a few social events before the school year is through." All the events welcome both members and non-members, but if you'd like to be a part of us, be sure to let us know!

We held a career expo workshop on Tuesday, 2/10. In the workshop, we distributed a packet loaded with information on resumes, cover letters, portfolios, interviews and much more about going to a career fair. If you missed out, refer to the workshop's page for some useful links! If you'd like a copy of the whole packet, please don't hesitate to email us.
