We, members of Women in Architecture at UIUC, came together to provide a forum of discussion regarding issues and concerns of women practicing in a field that is still predominately male.



History:

Our group was founded in 1998 by students in architecture. From there, the organization has grown rapidly. Our members include students from all levels of study as well as many professors.



Our Goals:

Educate ourselves about the achievements of other women working in the field of architecture.

Increase the school's public awareness of difficulties other women have encountered in practice and to gain insight from their successes.

Broaden our horizon in architecture through observations and discussions on issues and readings regarding architecture.

Provide aid with our best capability to those who desire it.

Unite women in the School of Architecture at UIUC and, together, strengthen the women population in the School.
