reduce | reuse | recycle

studios going green is a new initiative headed by the ecological design consortium (edc), the university of illinois at urbana-champaign's student organization for sustainable architecture. this project will provide the resources and equipment to effectively reduce our consumption of studio materials.

through studios going green, we hope to further the current efforts of Facilities and Services, who sorts out the recyclable materials in the University’s trash. with this project, more can be diverted from the trash by keeping materials free from contamination and reusing as much as possible. furthermore, we hope to expand each student’s mindset to be continuously conscious of their impact on the environment.

the architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning studios of temple hoyne buell hall, the architecture building, and the arch annex will all be participating in this effort. the american society of landscape architects (student chapter) and the student planning organization are assisting us in this project as well.
