Rosemarie Woodbury

Rosie is a first year graduate in the dual degree M.Arch MBA program. She went to U of I for undergrad and went to Versailles during her junior year. She has previously served as the roles of president, Versailles representative, and past president advisor. She is very excited for this year and wants to engage as many people as possible in the great benefits of AIAS. When she's not doing schoolwork or AIAS, she likes to hang out and watch movies with her husband and friends.

     
 

Chris Cochran

Chris is a first year grad student in the design option. He started at community college and transferred to UofI his Junior year. This year is Chris' 4th year as an AIAS officer and he hopes to involve and excite more students about the architectural profession.

Chris has served two years on the AIA IL Board of Directors and looks forward to continuing to connect students with local professionals and conferences. He expects this will be a great year and that AIAS can be rewarding for its members.

         
   

Emily Bateman

Emily Bateman is a second year Masters of Architecture student at the University of Illinois, with a focus on design and building system integration. Emily completed her Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies at UIUC in 2008. Emily also serves as the AIA Illinois Student Director.

 
         
         
   

Michael J. Andrejasich, AIA

Professor Michael Andrejasich served as Interim Director of the School of Architecture from 2000 to 2004, and is now the Associate Director of Undergraduate Affairs. He has worked with the UIUC Senate, ACSA, IDP, several architetural firms across Illinois, and has been a long time mentor to AIAS Illinois. He was the recipient of the UIUC Campus Award for "Excellence in Public Engagement" in 2002, and the ACSA "Honor Award for Service," in 1997. He was also recognized as an outstanding educator by the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) by being awarded the 2003 National Educator Honor Award. Professor Andrejasich earned his master's degree in architecture at Illinois in 1982 and his bachelor's degree in architecture at Illinois in 1976.

 
     

 

 
   

David M. Chasco, AIA

David Chasco was appointed the new Director of the School of Architecture this Summer. Previously, he served as the Chair of the Department of Architecture at Lawrence Technological University in Michigan. His professional experience includes work as a member and associate in the firm of Gunnar Birkerts & Associates, an international-based design practice, where he was the project designer/director for a broad range of building types. In 1992, Chasco was named a Plym Fellow in the School of Architecture at Illinois. The Francis J. Plym Fellowships are given to accomplished mid-career architects. Director Chasco earned his master's degree in architecture at Illinois in 1980 and his bachelor's degree in architecture at Illinois in 1977.
