I teach a unified approach to design and technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have written dozens of articles for the AIA, ASCE and other leading organizations and presented papers at national and international conferences on architectural practice and education. The goal of my research is to keep design quality at the forefront of integrated design and construction, providing architects with new practices and technologies so that they may lead the teams that will design and build tomorrow’s projects. Twenty years of experience in architecture, design-build and construction provide a solid foundation for my teaching and research goals. I have worked with several architecture firms on large international projects in Europe and Asia and for ten years ran my own design-build firm in Washington, DC.
