The Fall 2008 semester Arch-595IN field trip to chicago is scheduled for Friday, October 31. Please
note the following about the trip.
- Participating in the field trip is optional.
- Registration will take place in September with advance notice.
- Only about 30people will be able to participate in the trip.
- Registration is not complete until the full fee and appropriate forms are collected. No payment or missing forms will lead to offering the spot to the next person on the list.
- The field trip will take the entire day (we will depart early in the morning and return in the evening).
- Participants will have to pay for their expenses (meals on your own) which will be collected at the time of
registration.
- The fee for the field trip is estimated to be around $40/person. We will
be unable to reimburse your money after collection, even if you do not participate in the trip. The fee is to cover
some of the expenses associated with the trip and does not include any meals.
- Payments will be accepted in the form of checks payable to the University of Illinois. Registration is not
complete until the fee is collected.
- Participants will have to sign appropriate release forms at the time of registration.
- Participants will need to contact their professors for all courses that may be affected by the trip and be sure missing
class/work is acceptable to them.
- The trip typically includes tours of major construction sites plus a number of significant existing buildings.
- Tours are guided by either professionals involved in the design and construction of the buildings or the staff currently
managing the buildings.
- Participants will ride a commercial bus booked through the University.
- Please read important safety precautions for site visits. These are only some precautions.
