Quizzes:

There will be a number of quizzes during the semester, some of which may be announced in advance. Two lowest quiz grades for each person will be dropped at the end of the semester. Due to this arrangement, make up quizzes will not be given. See Course Policies handout given in class for additional information.

Class Exercises:

A number of class exercises will be given during the semester. Typically, these are short exercises on previously or recently covered material. Two lowest class exercise grades for each person will be dropped at the end of the semester. Due to this arrangement, make up class exercises will not be given. See Course Policies handout given in class for additional information.

Assignments:

Assignments will be given at appropriate times after a subject is covered in class. Any assignments due on a different day than the day given will be collected at the beginning of the period on the due date. Often you will work on your homework assignments in the lab. Those assignments are due at the end of the same period, unless otherwise indicated. Four lowest homework grades for each person will be dropped at the end of the semester. Due to this arrangement, late homework will not be accepted. See Course Policies handout given in class for additional information.

Missed Work:

Two lowest quiz scores, two lowest class exercise scores, and four lowest homework assignment scores will be dropped for each person at the end of the semester to account for missed work for any reason such as illness, travel, religious holidays, etc. In light of this arrangement, late homework will not be accepted and make up quizzes and class exercises will not be given.

Lab Sessions:

Lab sessions are intended to provide you with an opportunity to receive supervised assistance in understanding course material. Normally, you will utilize lab periods to work on your [homework] assignments. It is, however, noted that lab sessions are not intended exclusively for this purpose. Further, there may be times when there may be lectures during lab periods or vice versa. Attend your own lab section only at all times. See course web site under class list to find out which section you are in.
